VISITOR INFORMATION - STRATHEARN WOOL TRYST, SATURDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2014
Come an join us at Culdees, Muthill, Pethshire, PH5 2BA, to celebrate all things woolly! Entrance costs £3 (£2 concessions). Parking is FREE. Drop Off Point for disabled visitors. We will have:
- Fleece Exhibition - See where your wool comes from! Different varieties of sheep produce different wool, all with different properties. See yarn and rovings in the raw. Learn about the different breeds and their resulting fleece.
- Market Place - There will be a variety of different exhibitors selling yarn, rovings, fleece, knitting and crochet, equipment and rural crafts. We are stockists of Ashford spinning wheels. Find out more about us at www.strathearnfleeceandfibre.co.uk
- Displays
- Yarn and Fibre - A wide variety of yarn and fibre from interesting producers and artisan dyers.
- Catering - Refreshments available on site.
- Knit Along - Come and join us in participating in www.thelittleyellowduckproject.org We will have patterns, yarn, tags and helpers on hand so that you can create a little yellow duck to tag and take away for someone to find! The aim is to spread a little happiness to recipients and to spread awareness of blood, bone marrow, organ or tissue donation.
- Sheep Dog Demonstration - Come and see Colin put his dogs through their paces!
- Spinning - Demonstrations of spinning will be ongoing throughout the day. Try your hand with help and advice from experienced spinners. We are stockists of Ashford spinning wheels.
- Scottish Machine knitters will be demonstrating on the day.
- Weaving demonstrations from a Killin based weaver, Don.
- Rural Crafts
- Mini Workshops - Booking Ahead is essential and payment should be made at the time of booking. Each workshop costs £10 or £15 and lasts around 1-1.5 hours. Cancelled workshop places cannot be refunded unless the space can be filled. More details coming soon.
